Lime Essential Oil, Aromatika
Aroma:
typical for fresh fruit; rather sharp, bitter-sweet, slightly tart, catchy, fresh, cool, outgiving and entailing.
Obtained:
limette essential oil is obtained from fruits peel of Limette (Citrus limetta) - plant of Citroideae family by using method of cold pressing with further filtration.
Characteristics:
tonic; anti-oxidant, radioprotector; antiseptic, wound-healing, analgetic, spasmolytic; hypotensive, styptic; anti-inflammatory, antifever; antirheumatic; soft cholagogue, prevents formation of gallstones; rejuvenative, favors cleansing the body of wastes and organism cleansing; recover elasticity and flexibility of skin and subcutaneous cellulose, favors wrinkles smoothing; lightenes skin, normalizes water-fatty balance of skin; promotes increasing of libido.
Recommended for treratment:
hypochondria, depression, despondency, for overcoming the inferiority complex; as cheering and as refreshing of perception; high arterial pressure and vegeto-vascular dystonias of hypertensive type; viral respiratory infections; as antifever; for stimulation digestion in appetite loss, in intestinal colics and spasms, in reduction tone and pains in gallbladder and biliary tracts; rheumatism and arthritis; as treatment for flabby and flaccid skin, for prevention of formation and smoothing wrinkles, for oily skin care and oily hair.
Origin of plant: India
Main areas:
acid lime is cultivated in Cuba, southern Florida, Mexico and Italy. Sweet lime, that is called sometimes the European limetta, is cultivated on a much smaller territory and in much smaller amounts.
Properties of oil:
easy flowing pale yellow or yellow-green liquid with a fresh, sweet citrus scent close to the smell of fresh fruit.
Ways of using, dosage:
common massage, segmental: 4-6 drops per 10 ml of vegetable base oil;
vaporization in aroma lamp 4-6 drops per
common aroma bath: 6-8 drops of emulsified essential oil per bath;
cosmetics enrichment: 2-3 drops per
Blends with other oils:
Ylang-ylang oil, lavender oil, nutmeg oil, clary sage oil, geranium oil, palmarose oil, rose oil, rosemary oil, viola oil, citronella oil, bergamot oil, neroli oil and other citrus oils.
Cautions:
possible photosensitization – don’t apply on skin less than 60 minutes before sunbathing; for children procedures are carried considering age dosages.
Storage:
essential oils are stored in tightly closed dark glass bottles in indoor temperature in place inaccessible to children. Protect from light.
